This is a Pflueger Medalist 1495 1/2 fly reel from the 1950’s. Made in Akron, Ohio The reel was designed for 6-8 weight fly line plus backing. Overall the reel is in very good condition based on age. The exterior has some very minor scratches. It is purely cosmetic and does not affect how the reel functions. The interior of the reel is in very good to excellent condition. We have completely gone through the reel to clean it up. The reel is greased and is ready to go. The reel contains what appears to be 6 or 7 weight sinking fly line. We do not know the manufacturer or the age of the fly line. This would make an excellent fly reel for an older bamboo fly rod in the 8’0”-9’0” range for HCH-HDH line(6-7 weight) to balance the the rod.
